Very recent India faces a big problem of rising dengue cases, while the World’s first anti-dengue vaccine named “Dengvaxia” by Mexican government has brought a hope in the countries like India.

While, Dengvaxia can protect 9-45 age group from all four subtypes of virus. The vaccine was developed by France based Sanfoi Pasteur and is a result of a clinical development programme running for almost two decades.

According to a statement issued by the Mexico's health ministry, “the new vaccine is 60.5 per cent effective against dengue and 93.2 per cent effective against severe dengue treatment”.

In Mexico, a total of 32,100 cases were registered last year while 8,668 cases of severe dengue, which cost the country over 3.2 billion pesos ($187 million).
